Environmental Standards

Terebro works very hard to help its customers to minimise impact on the environment.

Trenchless Technology and the Environment

Guided augerboring reduces the impact of pipe installation on the environment for the following reasons:

  • It causes less pollution through reduced disruption to traffic.
  • It doesn't require newly quarried materials for backfill.
  • It only produces a fraction of the waste produced by open cut works.

Tracked Utility Vehicles (TUVs) and the Environment

  • Terebro's fleet of Hagglunds BV206 TUVs have very low ground pressure, around 8PSI.
  • They can access areas where normal vehicles cannot, or where they would damage the ground they travel over.
  • The need for building access roads and bridges is eliminated.
  • Their ability to access open country means that they can transport materials used for conservation works.

Terebro only uses biodegradable hydraulic oil (Grade) 46 in its drilling equipment.
